Roger Lloret-Batlle

I'm a researcher in Transportation Systems Engineering with a focus on collaborative consumption and peer-to-peer systems. My work explores how we can improve transportation efficiency by moving beyond traditional First-Come-First-Served (FCFS) operations to implement user-centric exchange mechanisms. I completed my research at UC Irvine working with Prof. Jayakrishnan where I developed novel frameworks for peer-to-peer ride exchanges and intersection control systems. My dissertation introduced the concept of envy-freeness to transportation literature and developed new models for dynamic pricing in transportation networks. My current work focuses on designing and analyzing collaborative consumption systems in transportation, particularly how connected vehicle environments and smartphone technology can enable more efficient resource allocation. I'm interested in developing pricing schemes that are both fair and efficient while maintaining system stability.
